Pasta and Pesto

Pesto is typically made with pine nuts, basil and parmesan but this take on it using yogurt is just as delicious.

Here’s what you need:

1/2 -3/4 cup 100% grass fed yogurt. (Sub Pine Nuts )

1 cup basil

1/2 cup cilantro

1/2 -1 whole seeded jalapeno

1 small clove garlic minced

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

cracked black pepper

1 package of your favorite fusilli pasta

Optional —save a little of the pasta water to use in the pesto if you over flavor one ingredient, adding a little pasta water or more yogurt can balance flavors out.

Here’s what you do:

  1. Boil the pasta according to the package.

  2. In a Nutribullet or blender, add yogurt, basil, cilantro, jalapeno, garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper.

  3. Taste to see if it agrees with you, adjust flavors as needed.

  4. Pour over cooked pasta—add cucumbers, tomatoes, cubed cheese or parmesan if you like and enjoy!
